Review our FutureFocus
Tools
The
FutureFocus Assessment is validated for students in
grades
8-10. It measures students' thinking style, occupational
interests, and
behavioral traits against 367 Department of Labor
Occupational Network careers grouped into 16 Occupational
Career Clusters.
The FutureFocus Assessment
is designed for graduating elementary students in 8th grade and
freshmen students while the
Academic Scholar assessment is
designed for senior high school sophomores, juniors and seniors.
The students' attributes are
organized into a report according to the top career matches in
the 16 Occupational Career Clusters explored. The report
outlines how students match to Career Clusters, the Career Pathway, and
the Department of Labor Occupations. The result is more
effective career planning
during students' initial transition from middle school
into high school. Students' "job match" core
competencies and interests are more quickly and accurately
aligned with their high school and college-prep goals, plans,
and academic programs.
The
FutureFocus Career Assessment:
-
Provides insight to students about their learning style,
career interests and behavioral traits
-
Develops and implements the technology necessary to allow
the sharing of this information with an approved hierarchy
of faculty and advisors.
-
Enhances the educational and career choices for every high
school student, while increasing retention and graduation
rates.
-
Guides students through the process of selecting
curriculum and majors.
-
Equips the high school Career Services' staff with an overall
program for matching majors and career choices in the
marketplace.
-
Successful
selection of college prep programs earlier in the students'
high school experience improves retention rates
and reduces
the students' and parents' financial burdens.

The FutureFocus was specifically developed as a customized,
entry-level, student-centered, age-appropriate career assessment to assist
high school students as
they navigate through the life-long
learning continuum.
